One of new features in KDE 4.8 is a 'Secret Service', KSecretService is an application which provide shared password storage that help a user to save their password (optionally) and share it with other application, I have not tried this application but (guess) seems similar to Ubuntu password keyring.
Some notable feature in KDE 4.8 are :
- Qt Quick in Plasma Workspaces -- Qt Quick is making its way into the Plasma Workspaces, the new Plasma Components provide a standardized API implementation of widgets with native Plasma Look and Feel. The device notifier widget has been ported to using these components and is now written in pure QML. KWin's window switcher is now also QML-based, paving the way for newly designed window switchers.
- Use Dolphin2, file view has been rewritten for better performance, scalability and more attractive visual appearance.
- KSecretService optionally enables a shared password storage, therefore making your saved passwords available to many other applications, leading to a more secure system and better integration of non-KDE apps into the Plasma Workspaces and KDE apps into non-Plasma workspaces.

For those who are using GNOME Shell must be excited with this news. GNOME shell extension website has been launched yesterday as public alpha stage. You must use Firefox with an extension - which is installed by default on GNOME 3.2 - to get an easy one-click install from the website. There is also an "on-off" button shown if you are running GNOME Shell when visiting the website.
As an alpha stage, there are some bugs and problems:
- There are some bugs that currently cause the browser plugin to not work correctly in WebKit-based browsers like Epiphany or Chrome. We will fix these bugs in subsequent releases of GNOME Shell, but for now using Firefox to access extensions.gnome.org is advised.
- Extensions that use GSettings to store user settings cannot be currently installed as a user; this limitation will be fixed for GNOME 3.4. In the mean time, extension authors should avoid the use of GSettings if they want to make their extension available via extensions.gnome.org.
- Due to a bug in GNOME Shell 3.2.1 code, the uninstall button will not work for some extensions. Disabling extensions still works, but if you want to remove an extension entirely, you'll need to manually delete it from ~/.local/share/gnome-shell/extensions.

Gwibber 3.4 plans to integrate with Google+ in ones of their services, this notes taken from Ken VanDine blog (creator of Gwibber).
Gwibber 3.4 will available in Ubuntu 12.04 Precise Pangolin but we strongly hope that we can taste it in Ubuntu 11.10, with the new Gwibber client, there aren’t really many new “features” however it is important to note not all previous features made it in (Ken van dine says). Some working on progress that we can see in Gwibber 3.4 launchpad are :
- Add Google+ Service to Gwibber, Gwibber "Smooth scrolling",
- CPU usage shoots up when opening new tweet box,
- Ability to post images & attachments to identi.ca & status.net, and
- Facebook send messages, user profiles, comments, and likes.
After installing the ubuntu 11.10 Oneiric, may some people feel not so satisfied with the performance or appearances (Unity), Although this situation has occurred since Ubuntu 11.04 some of ubuntu user seems still unsatisfied although Unity now runs on top of Gnome 3 platform (GTK3). Some advice to who are less satisfied with some Ubuntu change, "come on guys, all people do the change, let's change!", don't say that Gnome 2 is better ever.
When you run VirtualBox at the first time on Ubuntu 11.10 Oneiric Ocelot, you may get this following error message: "Failed to access the USB subsystem. Recently, I have wrote about how to limit apt-get download speed. Today, I'd like to show you cross-purposed applications called apt-fast and apt-proz. Both of them can boost your apt-get download speed by using such an engine, apt-fast use Axel engine and apt-proz use ProZilla engine. They can do parallel download, so as expected, your download speed is faster than usig reguler apt-get operation.
