Ubunchu : Ubuntu Manga Series for Ubuntu and Manga Lovers

Do you love reading manga (Comic) and love being Ubuntu user ?, here interesting news for you. It will become an interesting thing when we can combine two favorite hobbies into another hobby or being a new creation, maybe this is what lies behind Hiroshi Seo create an Ubunchu. “Ubunchu!” is a Japanese manga series featuring Ubuntu Linux. The outline of ubunchu is three school students in a system-admin club are getting into Ubuntu!

Ubunchu is release under Creative commons license, even if its write in japan you can translate it into your language and re-released it under the Creative Commons BY-NC license. For now there are 8 chapter available for download, it's available in Japanese and international language:

Happy New Year All !

In the start 2012, some people may start their day with writing their resolution, some people may lay down on their bed because of tired after partying, and some of them maybe start their day with reinstalling their PC with new OS. if you including in the third option i think you are geek... :p

2012 is a momentum to switch to ubuntu, after doing such many thing with ubuntu and feel confort with it, i thing now people should use it as prime OS. Ubuntu is not a perfect yet but still great, there are 10 reason why ubuntu still great and worth to try :

Free Open Source Software (FOSS) is creative, produced by Creative and use by Creative. A few days ago I read an interesting post from OMG!Ubuntu, "There is a Ubuntu Lovers make a song that dedicated to Ubuntu ans FOSS", hmm .. it was very impressive.

Why Color is become important in a product, because color can be brand to your product, their can be identity to your website or product that you spend, Ubuntu Group website (wiki, shipit, planet, etc) and Ubuntu Fan blog/website also use that color to affirm the ubuntu identity. an Alternative Choice of a Server Name

Maintain a Server (Web, Mail, Gateway, Firewall) is proudly job, isn't it, you should proud because not all people have a chance do it. Having many servers sometimes make confuse, we have to remember each password, address, or something where did we save a file.

To make our work more attractive we need to anticipate, add something interesting, friendly and seemed not scary, for example give a name of machines (servers) which we used to work in it. We have to give a server name as good enough so that we feel familiar in addition it's will make easy to remember.

A server name should reflect the character and its work, for example it's look nice when you name your firewall with the name Star gate or something robust like Hercules which reflect strong guards. So, what is the name of your server, is you renamed it as the way we do ?. Here alternative choice for 'cool' server name that you use in your machines.

NAO Humanoid Robot is Going to Open Source

There is Good news for robot lovers. Nao humanoid robot made by Aldebaran, France, will be part of open source projects. Source code for programming the Nao 'robot' in the near future may be freely accessible and can be modified by all people as desired.

Nao (pronounced "now") is an autonomous, programmable, medium-sized humanoid robot, developed by the French company Aldebaran Robotics, a startup company headquartered in Paris. Project Nao was launched in 2005. [wikipedia]

Nao is known as quite comprehensive humanoid robot model. Since Sony's Aibo robotic dog stop their project some time ago, the robotics community chose Nao to be a model, Some example in the activities of a RoboCup Soccer.

"With experience of developing embedded systems for five years, we want to share middleware, core communication library, cross platform developing tools, and modules we made essential to the researchers, developers, and new projects in humanoid robot word," said Bruno Maissonier , founder and CEO of Aldebaran in a press release reported by the site Spectrum, IEEE, last week.

Indeed there has been no details of Nao will going to Open Source and will be retained to be proprietary. However, overall, Aldebaran is committed to provide most of the Nao robot source code to the community. However, to be able to tamper with Nao robot certainly still have to buy the Nao it self to Aldebaran or near robotic store.

What would you ask if you met Mr. Mark "Ubuntu" Shuttleworth (Founder of Ubuntu Project) ?

Who didn't know Mr.Mark Shuttleworth, this people is equal with the famous 'Mark' of the year besides Mark Zuckerberk (Facebook Founder) and Mark Mullenweg (Wordpress Founder), Mark "Richard" Shuttleworth was born in 18 September 1973, he is the Man behind Ubuntu, the Man behind Canonical, the Man behind HBD Venture Capital, and also the first African space traveler. Mark "ubuntu" Shuttleworth is an African entrepreneur with a love of technology, innovation, change and space flight.
