How to reset Ubuntu Password, Having Lost a root Password [Video]

hi everyone, Is you have lost a root password ?
as in the previous today we will show you some ubuntu old trick which can be use when you lose ubuntu root (administrator) password. The following steps also can be used to reset user (non-root) password, but of course you do not need to do this way because you can do simply command passwd through root to reset it, as follows :

  • # passwd then enter new password.

Recovery Ubuntu Partition after Installing Windows [VIDEO]

Today we will show you some 'old' video taken from youtube (thanks to Tru3m0sl3m) that show us how to recover Ubuntu Partition after installing Windows. This video practiced with Ubuntu Maverick and Windows 7, but I think that same way you can do in all version of Ubuntu and Windows OS over Windows XP.

This video shows that we don't need any extra program to recovery Ubuntu partition except Ubuntu booting cd it self, is this way quite simple or hassle ?, check this video :

Mass Convert .doc to .odt Document [Video]

Yesterday we I attended such a training about Free Open Source Software (FOSS) and that's OpenOffice/Libreoffice there. On some discuss we find interesting topic that is how can we free from Microsoft software dependencies (overall) totally, and could we convert all microsoft office document (*.doc) we have to open document format (*.odt). It would be easy if we have less than 10 document (*.doc) to convert to odt, but if there more than 10 document course will take a long time.

How to Draw an ER Diagram with DIA

ER Diagram is an abstract and conceptual representation of data. Entity-relationship modeling is a database modeling method, used to produce a type of conceptual schema or semantic data model of a system, often a relational database, and its requirements in a top-down fashion. Diagrams created by this process are called entity-relationship diagrams, ER diagrams, or ERDs (wikipedia).  How to Draw ER Diagrams is quiet simple, when I was surfing on youtube I found this great tutorial, watch carefully video tutorial bellow "How to Draw an ER Diagram with DIA" .


Besides of  Drawing ER Diagram, you can do following action with DIA : 
  • Creating Flowchart Diagram.
  • An UML Diagram
  • Network Diagram
  • or Something like a Site plan.
