Wine has come to version 1.3.31, although it's still development release, you can install it over PPA. Use following to Install / Upgrade to Wine 1.3.31 via PPA for Ubuntu Oneiric, Natty, Lucid, Karmic, and Jaunty.

  • sudo apt-add-repository ppa:ubuntu-wine/ppa
  • sudo apt-get update &&sudo apt-get install wine1.3
