What's the Difference between openSUSE and OpenMandriva

Here's a comparison between openSUSE and OpenMandriva (continuing our comparison involving Mageia) the two European computer operating systems from our Free Libre Open Source Software community. The most obvious similarity from both is their name, which includes the word OPEN, which comes particularly from the Open Source Movement. In this article we will see several interesting stuffs from both around their architectures, distributions, control center, etc. so we know about their YaST and OMCC, respectively. If you want to know more similarities and differences of these two OSes, this article is for you. To make it easier to read, OS below is for openSUSE while OM is for OpenMandriva. Let's go!

An Overview of Debian 10 "Buster" from the GNOME Edition

(Debian 10 GNOME)

Debian 10 LTS, known as Buster, released with 7 desktop environments in 2019. This short article reveals the GNOME Edition for you. Unlike usual, I tried to break down the download pages more longer for you to give you clearer vision on what and where to download. I divided this article into 6 parts which talk about: ISOs, LTS, Calamares system installer, login sessions & RAM loads (fortunately, it's only ~800MiB right now!), user interface, and of course applications. How To Install Debian 10 "Buster" GNOME on USB Flash Drive

(Debian 10 "Buster" with user-friendly installer)

This tutorial explains how to install Debian 10.0 GNU/Linux. With this tutorial, you can either install it on internal or external disk drive, either in single- or dual-boot mode. You will get GNOME, the modern and user friendly desktop, as the user interface. And you will prepare at least 2 blank partitions as main place and swap of the system. This tutorial also includes several instructions for UEFI-based computers (which are sold since 2011 up to today). Total amount of time needed to finish it is about 1 hour. How To Install Lubuntu 18.10 LXQt Edition


This tutorial explains step by step to install Lubuntu 18.10 "Cosmic Cuttlefish". It's available for both 32-bit and 64-bit architectures. This is the first edition ever comes with LXQt Desktop Environment and also Calamares System Installer. This means Lubuntu Cosmic will have a slightly different steps to install as it does not use Ubiquity anymore. You will prepare two blank partitions, and one more if your computer initialization system is UEFI (not BIOS), and go through 10 steps until all finished. Happy working, enjoy Lubuntu LXQt!
