LibreOffice is a really great free software project which provides its product in all formats possible, whether it is DEB or RPM, Snap, Flatpak, or even AppImage. If you don't know, AppImage is just like DMG on MacOS, it's application in single file format just click to run it. However, if you see closer, LibreOffice AppImage looks good on elementary OS 5.0. That's why it's very interesting to use on elementary OS. In this article I just want to report screenshots and my short comments about it. I hope you are interested to run LibreOffice AppImage version on elementary OS too. Enjoy!

In the last post I talked about the Notebookbar and the style I presented there is called Tabbed. Actually, starting from 6.1, the Notebookbar got multiple new modes aside from Tabbed, among them are Contextual and Grouped. So if the Tabbed mode resembles MSO 2007, these two modes resemble no one, they are new unique styles requested by LibreOffice users. We will see them soon below. You can try it quickly right now by downloading and running LibreOffice AppImage without changing your GNU/Linux system. Enjoy!

Notebookbar, the Ribbon-like user interface is more stable and usable on LibreOffice 6.1.4 and later. It is a surprise for me as I just downloaded the AppImage and run it on my Ubuntu 18.04. It's really gorgeous and you can try it now even without changing your system. It's far more better compared to the previous versions. You will see my review below with some GIF animations and examples to convince you to try it. Go ahead, try it now!

This is a short preview of how Notebookbar will look like on LibreOffice 6.0. Notebookbar is a new toolbar appearance on LibreOffice since version 5.3 that look similar to Microsoft Office 2007 Ribbon Toolbar. It's tabbed, column based, and categorized. We can use Notebookbar on Writer, Calc, and Impress already. It's still a experimental feature for now, so it's not recommended for production use. However, it's already good looking at LibreOffice 6.0 and we need to see more. I show here screenshots of Writer's Notebookbar from all tabs with some commentary.

To enable Notebookbar, the new "Ribbon" toolbar on LibreOffice, do the following. This works on all versions of LibreOffice starting from 5.3 up to 6.0. Remember, the Notebookbar is still in development, so it's still Experimental for now and may be not complete.

• Go to menu Tool > Options > Advanced > check 'Enable experimental feature' > OK.
• Go to View > Toolbar Layout > Notebookbar. 

To disable Notebookbar, do the following:

• Click the triple line button at top-right corner > select Menubar > Menubar showing.
• Click menu View > Toolbar Layout > Default.
