This tutorial will explain step by step to upgrade Debian Desktop version 10 Buster to version 11 Bullseye for your computer. We do this to the GNOME edition and the process downloads all the updates using the internet not CDROM. We will use command lines to proceed. (Ubuntu 19.04 after upgrade from 18.04 LTS)

This is tutorial to upgrade your Ubuntu from 18.04 LTS to 19.04 using 'do-release-upgrade' command lines. The upgrade process is divided to two steps, first to upgrade to 18.10, and second to upgrade to 19.04. In other words, we will upgrade from Bionic Beaver to Cosmic Cuttlefish to Disco Dingo. The whole process takes approximately 3 hours and 30 minutes on broadband internet connection and Solid State Disk (SSD) storage. Go ahead and have a safe upgrade. Finally, happy working!

Upgrading between LTS versions is allowed in Ubuntu. This means you can upgrade 14.04 directly to 16.04. Ubuntu 16.04.4 has been released in 1 March 2018. This is the latest update for now, the fourth point release (or "service pack") after 16.04.3 of Ubuntu 16.04 LTS "Xenial Xerus". The latest KDE Plasma 5.10.5 is available for Kubuntu 17.04 "Zesty Zapus" at 24 August 2017. It's available via Kubuntu Backports PPA. Ubuntu 16.10 "Yakkety Yak" has reached End Of Life (EOL) stage at Friday 20 July 2017. This means the users won't receive official security updates from Canonical anymore. This leaves Yakkety users at least two choices, to stay at Yakkety (with using old-release repo) or to upgrade to 17.04 Zesty Zapus (by upgrading). This article explains shortly those two choices.

This article covers how to upgrade Mozilla Thunderbird manually in Ubuntu. This article uses Ubuntu 15.04 as example but it should be compatible with any other version of Ubuntu. This article consists of three simple steps. We like the manual way so we know what happen while doing upgrading. We will use command line to do this.

1. Open "Update Manager"

Hello readers! Today I'd like to share the download links of Linux Kernel 3.6.0 and how to install it on Ubuntu. I've tested it on my Ubuntu 12.04 LTS Precise Pangolin and everything seems OK. Although it's safe, please don't install it on production machine!

Ubuntu 12.04 LTS Precise Pangolin released few days ago. If you are using Ubuntu 10.04 LTS Lucid Lynx or Ubuntu 11.10 Oneiric Ocelot, you can upgrade to Ubuntu 12.04 LTS Precise Pangolin without installing from scratch. There are two methods we can use, upgrading via Internet or upgrading via alternate Ubuntu CD (without Internet connection).

1. Upgrading with Internet connection
Ubuntu users who have high speed Internet access can upgrade to Ubuntu 12.04 LTS Precise Pangolin easily by typing the following command on Linux Terminal:

  • update-manager -d
The Update Manager window will appear and inform that New Ubuntu release '12.04 LTS' is available. All you need to do is just click the "Upgrade" button.
