Recently, I have written a post about on how to install ProZilla on Ubuntu 13.04 Raring Ringtail. As ProZilla has Text User Interface (TUI), new Ubuntu users might not interested in it. Typing a command on Terminal might be seems difficult for new users, it would be nice if there is a GUI (Graphical User Interface) which can do same tasks by clicking here and there. Well, ProzGui is a GUI version of ProZilla which has the same features as ProZilla. ProzGui provides the user with a windows environment that allows to manage the ProZilla download manager with greater ease.

As I said before, ProzGui comes with what Prozilla has. It can accelerate download speed up to 300% faster than using regular download application. It divides the program into several parts, and every part download a chunk of file. Once completed, all chunks will be unified into one file. By doing so, ProzGui can download optimize your Internet bandwidth plus a GUI which make downloading file easier.
Even though working in console mode is more efficient and faster for experimented users, it is a lot nicer to have a graphic interface from which to able to configure and handle programs. Once you have installed ProzGui on your computer you will be able to manage the downloads that you perform from ProZilla without requiring to use the command line console.
ProZilla also comes with a simple configuration window which allows us to change some application options such as number of threads a.k.a connections, retry delay, timeout period, bandwidth limit, proxy options, FTP options, and more!

Install ProzGui on Ubuntu 13.04 Raring Ringtail
Ubuntu users can install ProzGui by adding the PPA below:
  • sudo add-apt-repository ppa:alza/project
  • sudo apt-get update
  • sudo apt-get install prozgui
ProzGui acts as standalone application, so it has no dependency with ProZilla. Once installed, you can access ProzGui from Internet section from the menu.

Regards :)
