Unlike many other secure & privacy-respecting operating systems, PureOS does not get celebration in every release. Say for example QubesOS, Tails, Whonix, and OpenBSD, they all get celebrations every time they reach a new version. However, after a period of version 8.0, now PureOS reaches version 9.0 as per February 2020 I could tell. This article overviews PureOS in general and version 9.0 in particular starting from a little Librem computers intro, then things about the new Amber codename, the switch from Rolling to Stable style of release, and more. This tutorial explains installation steps for PureOS 8.0 GNU/Linux. PureOS is a fully free computer operating system based on Debian with modern desktop (GNOME 3.26) and latest software (rolling release). PureOS installation is very easy for beginners and it doesn't requires internet connection. The whole installation takes only 10 minutes and already includes all device drivers. However, while you can perform this tutorial in singleboot and dualboot modes, it's best to install PureOS in a blank computer. Read each step carefully and happy installing!

PureOS GNU/Linux is a new Debian-based and user-friendly distro that just certified by the FSF as 100% free distro (along with Trisquel). PureOS is developed mainly for Purism Librem computers but it's publicly available, so we can download PureOS and install it on our own computers & laptops (currently 64 bit only). This article shows how PureOS looks at inside starting from the Desktop (GNOME 3.26) until the System Installer (Calamares). As summary, I can say for now (December 2017) that if you're looking for the most user-friendly 100% free distro, you should try PureOS. Enjoy!
