Due to a lot of page views on my past posts about the latest Linux Kernel releases, I decided to keep you up to date with the latest version of Linux Kernel which is available to install on Ubuntu. Today, I'd like to share the download link of Linux Kernel 3.7.1 deb packages, so you can install it easily on your Ubuntu system. Please note that the latest kernel which is not officially released by Ubuntu may break your system, so please don't install it on production system :)


Linux Kernel 3.7.1 changes and improvements:
  • Add "Asus UL30VT" to ACPI video detect blacklist
  • ignore BIOS initial backlight value for HP Folio 13-2000
  • Add Sony Vaio VPCEB1S1E to nonvs blacklist
  • Correct battery capacity values on Thinkpads
  • add Virtenio Preon32 device id

  • Fix masking of MSI interrupts
  • Power driver support for AMD's family 16h processors

Install Linux Kernel 3.7.1 on Ubuntu 12.10 Quantal Quetzal
Please download all these deb files (choose the appropriate system architecture), put them in the same folder:

32bit

64bit

Once downloaded, install the files by executing the following command:
  • sudo dpkg -i *.deb
