Got your hands on the mouse and keyboard for a long time? Beware that it can cause damage inner wrist tendons. Additionally, you might suffer low back pain and neck discomfort if you have a bad sitting position. So, please take a rest for a while with Workrave :)
Workrave is a program that assists in the recovery and prevention of Repetitive Strain Injury (RSI). The program frequently alerts you to take micro-pauses, rest breaks and restricts you to your daily limit. Please refer to the feature comparison for a complete list of features, and how the program performs with respect to other programs on the market. The program runs on GNU/Linux and Microsoft Windows.
Workrave comes with some illustrations which guide you to do some stretching tasks. Each task comes with timer, so all you need to do is follow the "instructor" on the screen. You can do it by timer or by yourself by clicking the "Take rest break now" button.
Of course, you can set the timers as you wish via Workrave preferences. Simply right click on the Workrave "tiny" window and choose "Preferences".
You can also check the statistics e.g. the mouse and keyboard usage via the "Statistics" menu.
