Touchpad indicator is one of usefull indicator that give you easiest way to disable and enable touchpad functionality just click through your deskbar, the Touchpad indicator was written by Lorenzo Carbonell which actually start since ubuntu 10.10 Maverick and continued until Ubuntu 11.04 Natty Narwhall, now touchpad indicator come with same interface but give better functionality. The touchpad indicator is not install by default in your system, you can install touchpad indicator in ubuntu 11.04 via terminal as follow :
  • Update repository
    sudo add-apt-repository ppa:atareao/atareao
  • Update and Install Ubuntu touchpad indicator
    sudo apt-get update && sudo apt-get install touchpad-indicator

Touchpad indicator has equipped with automatic disable touchpad when mouse is connected, just right click the touchpad indicator in the deskbar then click preference, see what will you get there. you can easily disable or enable laptop touchpad as needed by now, i hope this will help, thanks for coming :)
